2016 was the year I quit my job as optometrist and created FIERCE CLARITY. My dad passed away and I decide life is too short to not purse your passions. I started teaching yoga, planned my first retreat, and leaned into posting wellness content.

Funny enough I had a Sears Optical sublease but it was in a bad location and I made no $ so even though I lived in Houston, I used to fly back to NYC and work fill in for a week because they paid 3x the Texas Day Rate.

10 years later so much has changed but also stayed the same. I still love to work out in group classes, I still love a juice/smoothie as a skinny meal replacement lol, and I still think life is too short to not pursue what’s calling you. On to the next chapter —-> 😎💫

SUPPORT MAKAI 🫶🏾 As LA continues to deal with the devastation from the wildfires, I want to take this time to shine a light on one of our Team FC fam 💫

Makai is a from Altadena and has been working with us at FC since 2022. She started as a part of Summer internship program and then stayed on to help with the digital marketing/anything we needed! She has always had a passion for wellness and is recently certified yoga instructor!! Makai is an incredibly hard worker + has such a positive and giving spirit 🙏🏾

Makai’s family home in Altadena was affected by the Eaton fire last week and she and her family are currently displaced. As you reflect on 2024, extend yourself grace if you didn’t end the year where you thought you’d be. Since we are driven + ambitious we’re always looking forward and focused on our next goal, accomplishment, or achievement. It’s healthy because focusing on the big picture brings clarity + motivation to work hard, but our drive is also a trap because we feel stagnant + unfulfilled if we aren’t killing it 100% of the time. We feel the pressure to be always on. We look to other successful women as yardsticks to figure out where we are coming up short. We focus on getting to the next marker of success and feel deep discontent when we don’t make it there by our self-imposed deadlines.

Instead — Honor the space and honor the becoming. I think the way to find sustained fulfillment during this in-between chapter is to take the perspective ” What am I supposed to learn? What opportunities are opening up for me?”. Space in-between who you were and who you want to be is about learning to relax into the unfulfilled feeling and channel it into something productive. We have to learn to feel grateful for the journey happening now and relinquish some of the focus on what we’ve yet to accomplish.
