It is with bittersweet emotions that I am announcing that I have accepted a full time faculty position at Marist College as Assistant Clinical Professor of Physical Therapy. This is a long time dream for me and I am so thrilled to work along side the best and brightest in my profession as well help shape the future of the profession that is so dear to me .
But yes, it does mean that I will be downsizing my practice significantly. I will continue my current caseload through June and July and close for the month of August . I plan to come back 6 hours / week at the same location in West Hurley
( Tanglewood Movement center on the corner of Tanglewood Rd and 375 ) starting in September . I am so incredibly grateful to this community for the love and support they have shown me over the 30 years I have been practicing in the area .

The Tanglewood movement center will have full time office space available starting August 1st . Feel free to contact me with interest at robertshpt@gmail.com . It is a well appointed space in a perfect location ideal for a skilled practitioner looking to start a thriving practice in a collaborative environment .

Dear physical therapy patient community
I hope this finds you all well in this incredibly difficult time. I wanted to update you all on the status of my practice as the last communications I sent out indicated a reassessment for April 20 .
I have been looking for guidance on best practices from several resources: the CDC, Governor Cuomo , and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) . While physical therapy is not considered non essential ( meaning we can stay open) the APTA has advised that we use our best judgement to determine wether the risk of exposure for our patients outweighs the benefit of treatment rendered . Combining input from those resources , I have decided to follow the Governor's general guideline to look at May 15 as a targeted, gradual reopening date . Assessment as to what that will look like will be ongoing and updated as we get closer .

In the meantime , I am continuing to provide tele-rehabilitative services to anyone interested . For established Medicare patients, Medicare is covering 1/2 hour of covered e-visits for a 7 day period . For non medicare patients, I continue to be out of network and have been charging $60 per visit with a pretty lenient time period for each visit. For those patients needing tele-rehab services but have lost employment or experiencing hardship due to coronavirus, I can waive those fees.

If you currently have in person appointments scheduled from now through May 15 , please take them out so I know you have received this , or email me at robertshpt@gmail.com and I will take them out . I will give a heads up as we approach May 15 for guidance on re scheduling .

Please , feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns - Im happy to discuss treatment options . I miss you all and hope you are staying safe and well !

Warmly
Heather Roberts DPT

Now offering tele -rehabilitation!
I have worked with several people in the past week using platforms such as Zoom and FaceTime and while it is not ideal for everyone or every condition , I am pleasantly surprised as to what can be accomplished over virtual platforms .
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or interest in tele-rehabilitation and what it could mean for you .

Sincerely,
Heather Roberts DPT, OCS
