The USPTF updated their guidelines on breast cancer screening. I am happy they decreased the age for screening mammograms back down to age 40, which is what ASBrS and ACR recommends for the average risk woman, but I’m still dismayed they only recommend every other year screening.

We’re offering free screening mammograms Mother’s Day weekend. I will be performing clinical breast exams at the event. Please share with anyone who may be in need of one.

According to the American Society of Breast Surgeons position on screening mammography:
For average risk women, screening mammograms are recommended annually starting at age 40.
For those at high risk, screening starts even earlier!
