It's been a hot minute, so please allow me to (re) introduce myself to you ;)

Hi, I'm Jessi Andricks, a school-based SLP, yoga teacher, and a passionate advocate for well-being in our demanding professions. I believe in rights for all, that our voices matter, advocacy is essential, and feeding starving children and families and supporting those in our community is our duty as humans. And empathy is everything.
For years, I've been dedicated to helping fellow Speech-Language Pathologists and educators navigate the unique challenges of our field, manage stress, and prevent burnout. As a proud member of the Special Education team, I understand firsthand the daily pressures you face.
Now I focus on not only navigating the demands and pressures in the field, but also bringing more mindfulness and stress reduction to students and clients, as well as creating simple, easy to use, and fun resources for your speech room, classroom, or home!
You might know me as the host of the SLP Stress Management Podcast, where I share real-world tips, a bit of science, and my own journey to finding more balance. I'm also the creator of CEU courses available on platforms like @ aka
SpeechPathology.com, , and where I delve deeper into stress management, mindfulness, and self-care strategies tailored specifically for SLPs. Beyond that, I'm an author and a mindfulness instructor, always seeking new ways to bring calm and focus into our lives.
My goal, whether through my presentations, my podcast, or my courses, is to empower you to find more joy and connection in your day-to-day, both in and out of your vital work. I'm so glad to connect with you all!

What is new with your life, in and out of being an SLP?

Kindness Forever,
Jessi

Happy Earth Day! 🌎

Earth Day is my favorite holiday and I get so excited to celebrate it each year.

It's a reminder to pause and do something good for our world, because, if nothing else, the entire point of this life thing is to leave the earth better of than we came into it.

It's a reminder that little things and small steps can make big changes, and do good in the world. That one person can make a difference.

It's a reminder of gratitude for simple things and simple moments, like pausing to feel the sunshine on your face, the rain on your skin, or the ground - green - beneath your feet, and to give thanks for it.

So today I celebrated with simple things:
Local, organic coffee
Our newly planted "garden" for the deck
Fresh air
A sustainable sourced shirt and thrifted pants
Smoothies with fresh produce and herbs
Outdoor time at recess
And Wall-E with my kiddos

It is a fantastic and productive way to take action and have your voice heard against the atrocities happening in our government.

The last few weeks, especially after this weekend, have left me feeling scared and helpless, maybe even hopeless at times. I could feel myself becoming more anxious each day with the onslaught of news and the uncertainty. It was very hard to feel like there was anything that could be done. The one thing that most representatives, leaders, and those working to fight against all of this have said the one thing we can do is to call out representatives and let them know we do not stand for this or WANT this.

The app has each topic listed, with the names of who to call, and their numbers - both local offices and in DC. It breaks down the issues and then gives you a script of what to say, so that if you like me, get nervous and feel scattered, you can have a clear voice and clear message. It helps you to share what you are concerned about, why you want them to do something, and how you want them to take action. Then, it marks off once you have made the calls, so you know which things you have been able to reach out about.

I have used it every day and it is a quick way to get your message heard and keep track of all that is happening. It has helped me feel empowered in all of this, which is SO important, and has relieved some of the overwhelm and anxiety.

If you are feeling scared and helpless, and did not vote for this, please check out the app and have your voice heard (PS, in general, Republicans call more throughout the year than Democrats, so, Dems and liberals, it is time for us to start calling and have our voices heard, too This is the work to do now.).

If you did vote for the current president and his team, but this was not what you expected or wanted, please check out the app. If you believed Trump when he said he was not part of Project 2025, and you believed Musk was going to help everyone financially, and are disheartened by what is going on, please check out this app.continued in comments...
