This is one of the most common questions we hear, and it is often asked quietly, after months or years of managing symptoms alone.
The short answer is no.
The longer answer matters.
Pelvic floor therapy is not limited to the early postpartum window. Healing does not expire at six weeks, one year, or even a decade after childbirth. We regularly work with patients who are years postpartum, navigating perimenopause or menopause, recovering from surgery, or noticing changes that surfaced long after they thought their body had “settled.”
From a clinical standpoint, your nervous system and muscles are capable of adapting throughout your lifespan. With the right assessment and evidence-based care, meaningful improvement is possible. That is true whether your symptoms began after pregnancy, during hormonal changes, following surgery, or seemingly out of nowhere.
At Reborn Pelvic Health and Wellness, pelvic floor physical therapy is not a generic exercise program or a one-size-fits-all approach. Every session is one-on-one with a specialized pelvic health physical therapist. We evaluate how your pelvic floor works in coordination with your breath, posture, core, and movement patterns. Care is individualized, private, and focused on restoring function, confidence, and quality of life.
Too often, people are told that leaking, pain, heaviness, urgency, or discomfort with intimacy is something they simply have to live with. These symptoms may be common, but they are not normal. And they are not something you have to accept as permanent.
Healing is not on a countdown clock.
It starts when you are ready.
If you have been unsure, hesitant, or wondering if you waited too long, this is your reminder that support is available now. You are not behind. You are not broken. You deserve care that meets you where you are today.
Save this if you needed to hear it.
