The year was 1875. The Sisters of the Holy Cross stepped into Salt Lake City and laid the cornerstone of what would become 150 years of healing and hope in Utah. Within weeks of their arrival, their dream of a hospital became a reality.

This year, we honor the sisters' powerful legacy and commitment to delivering exceptional care in our communities. We want to hear from you! Whether it's a story of care or a personal experience at a Holy Cross Hospital, please share it here. https://ow.ly/pjY250WNG3Z

Living with the constant ache of osteoarthritis, tendonitis, or bursitis can significantly impact daily life. While many options exist, finding one that offers lasting, meaningful relief is often a challenge.

Low Dose Radiation Therapy (LDRT) is now being used to address these non-cancerous inflammatory and degenerative conditions. This method, which has demonstrated significant success in reducing pain and improving quality of life for about 75% of patients (based on international findings), works by directly reducing inflammation and modulating pain signals. Treatments are typically short, low-dose sessions spread over a few weeks.

This specialized treatment is now being expanded for patient access in Utah at Holy Cross Hospital – Jordan Valley, with Dr. Leland Rogers leading the program. https://ow.ly/YnmR50WNCuL

Hello Humandkindness isn't just a tagline, it's our guiding philosophy. Adopting a kindness mindset begins with awareness and seeking opportunities, no matter how small the act is.

This Be Kind to Humankind Week, our Utah Market President, Jeremy Bradshaw, emphasizes the power of kindness and invites our community to join in this movement as the positive ripple effects can be transformative, both for the individual and the collective. Jeremy Bradshawshares more ways on how to lean into Humankindness in Deseret News.

Be Kind to Humankind Week is an opportunity to consider how we can apply the power of kindness.

Happy National I Love My Feet Day! 👣 Did you know August 17th is dedicated to celebrating these incredible parts of our body that carry us through life? As Dr. Devin Tranter, Utah-based CommonSpirit podiatrist, always says, taking care of your feet is paramount, and it all starts with the right shoes!

One of the top questions Dr. Tranter gets is: "What shoes should I buy or wear?" Here's his expert advice to keep your feet happy and healthy:

▪️ Match Shoes to Activity: Ditch those unsupportive flip-flops for long walking days! Your feet will thank you.

▪️Know Your Foot Type:
Low arches? You're prone to pronation (rolling inward), so look for motion control or over-pronator shoes.

High arches? You're more likely to supinate (roll outward), so you'll need under-pronation or over-supination shoes.

▪️ Check Shoe Support: A good shoe should only bend at the toe box, not in the middle or back, and it shouldn't twist easily. Be wary of overly minimalist or "cloud" shoes for long-term wear.

▪️ Test Before Buying: Don't be shy! Wear shoes in the store for 5-10 minutes. If they don't feel good immediately, they won't magically improve. When in doubt, try one type/size on each foot to compare.

This National I Love My Feet Day, let's put our best foot forward and show our feet the care they deserve! What are your favorite ways to pamper your feet? Share below!

As fall sports ramp up, it's important that if you have a student-athlete or support one, to understand the importance of injury prevention. Here are some tips you can share:

Rest
Make sure you're adding rest days to the schedule. Letting the body heal is important to having the energy to perform in future practices and games.

Wear the Right Gear
Gear doesn't only affect how your athlete plays, it also helps protect them and others from injury. Gear that is the wrong size or in poor condition can actually contribute to injuries.

Stay Hydrated Whether a sports drink or plain water, drinking enough fluids is important before, during and after games to avoid dehydration.

Warm Up
Warming up and stretching the body before practice or a game will help prevent injuries.

Listen to Your Body
If you are in pain or feel ill, stop, rest and address the issue before continuing. Learn more about ways to prevent sports injuries this sports season.
