What is Hospice?

Hospice care seeks to Validate the quality of Life rather than the quantity.

Hospice is often misunderstood. A common belief is patients are giving up or choosing to end their Life. Quite the contrary, Hospice patients are electing to Live every minute to its fullest, maintaining as much independence and access to family and friends as possible.

They also have 24 hour access to a Physician, Nurses and a Chaplain. In addition services include Bereavement Services and Spiritual counseling. These services are fully covered by Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance.

This is your Chaplain Speaking!!

Welcome to Flight “2023” We are prepared to take off into the New Year. Please make sure your Positive Attitude and Gratitude are secured and locked in the upright position. All self-destruct devices; pity, anger, selfishness and resentment should be turned off at this time. All negativity, hurt and discouragement should be put away. Should you lose your positive Attitude under pressure during this flight, reach up and pull down a prayer. Prayers will automatically be activated by Faith. Once your Faith is activated, you can assist other passengers who are of little faith. There will BE NO BAGGAGE allowed on this flight. God, our Captain has cleared us for take-off. Destination – GREATNESS! Wishing you a New Year filled with new HOPE, new JOY and new BEGINNINGS!

May this year be filled with light, love, joy, and happiness.

It probably doesn’t look this clean, it’s most likely all over the place. There is also not a time line so just give yourself permission to do the best you can each day and maybe the best you can each minute. Your Tears are Truth, Honor them 🙏🏻

As this Holiday season comes to an end there is Much Gratitude in our Hearts.

Every time a Bell Rings, an Angel gets their Wings. That Bell is Never easy especially during the Holidays. We have such an Amazing team right now. Our nurses went above and beyond like usual to make sure all our Patients were tucked in and comfortable for what could be their last Christmas 🕊🙏🏻

At Good Shepherd Hospice we have had a lot of Patients (Family to us) get their Wings. It can be an Extremely hard time especially losing Loved ones during this time of year. Sending Condolences, Blessings and Prayers to ALL of you Missing Loved ones this Holiday season 🐑🙏🏻🕊

Those we Love don't go away. They walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard but always near, still Loved, Still Missed & Very Dear.

My First Christmas in Heaven

I see the countless
Christmas trees
around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars,
reflecting on the snow

The sight is so spectacular,
please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with
Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs
that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare
with the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you,
the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description,
to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart.
But I am not so far away,
We really aren't apart.

So be happy for me, dear ones,
You know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.

I sent you each a special gift,
from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory
of my undying love.

After all, love is a gift more precious
than pure gold.
was always most important
the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other,
my Father said to do.
I can't count the blessing or love he
has for each of you.

Twas the Night before Christmas, Our Patients at Good Shepherd Hospice are nestled all snug in their beds- 🙏🏻🕊🙏🏻

So many families spending what they know is their last Christmas with a Loved one.
