✨ One month post-op and the results speak for themselves!
This patient is just 4 weeks out from bilateral upper eyelid blepharoplasty and unilateral ptosis repair, performed by Dr. Stanciu — and already seeing a brighter, more refreshed appearance.

These procedures not only enhance aesthetics but can also improve vision by lifting heavy, drooping eyelids out of the field of sight.

👁️ Considering eyelid surgery for functional or cosmetic reasons? Let’s talk.

👓 Tired of juggling reading glasses, bifocals, or struggling to see up close?

There’s a better way.

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) is a long-term solution for adults 40+ who are experiencing presbyopia or worsening near vision. By replacing your natural lens with a custom one, RLE restores clear vision at all distances — often eliminating the need for glasses altogether.

✨ No more readers
✨ No more bifocals
✨ Clear vision near, far, and in between

✨ Bonus — Because your natural lens is replaced during RLE, you won’t develop cataracts later in life.

Regain the freedom to live — and see — on your terms.

👁️ What Is Pterygium?
In recognition of UV Safety Month, we’re raising awareness about Pterygium—a condition strongly linked to prolonged sun exposure.

Pterygium is a pink, wedge-shaped growth that forms on the white part of the eye and can grow onto the cornea. It’s most commonly seen in people who spend a lot of time outdoors—especially in sunny, dry, or windy environments like those here in Central Texas.

While it may start out small, it can lead to:
🔹 Blurry or distorted vision
🔹 Redness, irritation, or a gritty feeling
🔹 The need for medical or surgical treatment

🕶️ Protect your eyes by wearing wraparound sunglasses, UV-blocking lenses, and wide-brimmed hats—even on overcast days.

If you think you may be developing a pterygium, call us to schedule a consultation. Early care can help protect your vision and comfort.

👁️ Glaucoma isn’t a “wait and see” disease.

In the latest issue of Glaucoma Today, I had the opportunity to speak on something I’m deeply passionate about—intervening earlier to preserve sight.

Too often, patients are told to hold off on treatment until damage progresses. But we now have safe, effective interventional options—like MIGS and canal-based procedures—that can help maintain vision while reducing the burden of daily drops.

At Westlake Eye Specialists, we combine glaucoma and cataract procedures when appropriate, so patients benefit from a comprehensive, customized treatment plan.

If you or someone you love has glaucoma—or is at risk—please know: you don’t have to wait to protect your vision.
