I’ve struggled with chronic and persistent back pain the last 3 years and have probably seen 10-15 doctors in Austin. None come even close to the skill and care one receives with Dr. Dumistrescu.

There are many things that make Dr. D an excellent doctor. 1) He has an incredible bedside manner. I’ve never once felt rushed during a visit or any pressure to rush through any questions I’ve had with him. Any follow up questions I’ve sent over, he has always promptly replied to me via email. I’ve never once had a doctor who offered to allow me to communicate with follow up questions via email. Most have rushed me out of their offices in 15 minutes. Unheard of.

2) Dr. D is open minded: Regenerative medicine is fairly new and no one has it all figured out. Human bodies are complex and what might work for one person may not work for another. I’ve brought various ideas to Dr. D about my situation over the years and we’ve always had an authentic conversation. No judgment, no elitist mentality, just a conversation. Prior doctors have made me feel crazy and inadequate for asking very reasonable questions. Not Dr. D. When he communicates he does it respectfully.

3) Dr. D is incredibly bright. He is a MD with extensive experience in regenerative medicine and a strong educational background. I highly doubt you will find someone with a track record like him.

4) Regenerative medicine can be very expensive. I’ve never once felt that I’d be sold to. Dr. D communicates options he would recommend, talks through pros/cons, allows you to ask questions, and ultimately allows you to come to your own conclusions on whether to pursue treatment or not. . He never overpromises and guarantees results because he knows that individual people react differently to different things. That’s the definition of credibility in my eyes.

In summary, I feel very fortunate that I’ve met Dr. D. While I’m not 100% where I want to be, I’m certainly a lot better than before I met him. He truly is the gold standard when it comes to what a doctor should be. Full stop. I simply won’t see another spine doctor in the area.
