Our residents in memory care love parachute! It's a group game that is played quite often that has many benefits. Not only is it a great form of exercise, it helps with creating friends and laughter.

This month our resident Carol and her dogs Bert and Ernie participated in the West Linn Dog Show at the West Linn Adult Community Center.

Bert and Ernie took 1st place for Most Loving!

Our bus was full of residents to cheer on our friend Carol, Bert and Ernie and see the other furry friends that participated.

Thank you to Nature's Pet for the donated gift bags all the participants received. Thank you for West Linn Adult Community Center for putting together a great event.

Thank you to the staff that came in on the 4th to make it special for our residents.

Our kitchen staff put on a wonderful 4th of July BBQ, activities made tie-dye shirts with them and then later staff did fireworks with them.

Tanner Springs ended our Great Outdoors month with a visit from Perch Wildlife Education.

They brought our residents their beautiful birds of prey to teach them the unique physiology and ecology of each bird.

If you want to know if our GeriActive activity program helps create a community like environment with their Montessori based activities. Does it create independence? This right here is an example of just that. Tanner Spring is more than just an assisted living and memory care but a community that these residents call home.

Our resident, Pat took it upon herself to help our other resident, Carol, enter Bert and Ernie into the WLACC annual dog show. Pat and Carol walked up to the community center, turned in their entry form. They have been hanging up posters and promoting the dog show, letting everyone know about it. The dog show is Tuesday July 8th from 11am to 12pm. We're going to load a bus full of cheerleading residents to root for our favorite furry Tanner Spring friends. So come cheer with us!

As part of our "The Great Outdoors" month s, our Business Office Manager, Brooke gave a presentation to our Assisted Living and Memory Care residents about elk and elk conservation. Even letting the residents come up to touch, feel and even pose for pictures.

Our residents always love learning about new things. If you have a hobby, passion or talent you would love to share with our residents please contact us. We would love to have you!

Part of our GeriActive programming, residents learn about subjects pertaining to our month's theme at Lifelong Learning. This month's theme is the Great Outdoors. We've had Fishing & Boating, National Park and this week, it's the Wild Wild West.

Today residents learned about the Oregon Trail! During Lifelong Learning residents take turns reading facts about the subject. There are questions that help spark conversations and reminiscing and in our case...lots of laughter. We also watch short videos. With today's Lifelong Learning we had a special guest. Our Business Office Manager, Brooke joined us to read "Pick your own path on the Oregon Trail". It took us three times but we finally made it to Oregon City!
