Last night we welcomed a Mother Daughter group from Willamette Christian Church as they sang Christmas carols for our first Tanner Spring tree lighting in our newly remodeled front entrance. Thank you Mitch at Signature Hospice for making an ornament for our Christmas tree in AL and MC. We also had a hot cocoa bar and a table for kids to write and send letters to Santa. This month's GeriActive theme is all about giving back. We had a special guest, Golden Bond Rescue of Oregon come out to visit our residents. We loved getting all the snuggles. We hope to have you all back.

Golden Bond Rescue of Oregon is an organization that helps find loving homes for golden retrievers from all over the world. Some of these dogs today had been rescued from China and Korea. You can find more about their non-profit and make a donation at www.goldenbondrescue.com

This month we had another competition with managers. This month, it was a Soup Cook-Off! We had Navy Bean, Chicken & Dumplings, Posole, and Loaded Potato. The residents and staff voted for our Business Office Manager, Brooke's Loaded Potato soup. It was a close call, with only one vote ahead of the Chicken and Dumplings.

Next month, we're doing a bake off and we will be opening up to more staff members, so stay tuned!

Yesterday we took a special bus adventure to Fort Vancouver National Historic Site for their Veterans Day Parade. Thank you to the City of Vancouver workers for getting us a prime spot.

There were lots of smiles, tears and thank you with our group. The community was great towards our residents. Our residents received patches, pens, handshakes and thank you for your services from all ages.

We at Tanner Spring are so proud of our Veterans. This week we have a special dinner planned for everyone which will include the ones that didn't want to go on the bus ride. So stay tuned!

Happy Halloween from Tanner Spring. We celebrated with a Manager door decorating contest that the residents trick-or-treated as they chose a winner. The winner that the residents voted for was Maria, our Associate Health Service Director's door with her Addams family theme.
Then we celebrated with our Halloween themed Happy Hour with special spooky music from Matt McNeill!
