Daily Foot Care:
Inspect your feet daily: Check for redness, swelling, blisters, cuts, or changes in skin temperature. 🦶

Wash your feet daily: Use warm water and mild soap. Dry them thoroughly, especially between the toes. 🧼🫧

Wear appropriate footwear: Choose shoes that fit well, have a soft inner lining, and provide good support. Avoid going barefoot, even indoors. 👠👟🥾👡

Our award winning diabetes specialist, Dr. Nykkia Sellers, NP stated “I felt so honored to be selected to have a interview with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) to highlight what I love doing.”

Review the article below where Sellers discusses her reaction to receiving the 2025 AANP State Award for Outstanding Contributions and the work she does in the field of diabetes.

Thank you American Association of Nurse Practitioners !
We think she is pretty outstanding too!!😉

The AANP State Award for Outstanding Contributions honors NPs who have “shown efforts to advance the image, profile and visibility of NPs at the state level.” AANP spoke with two recipients of the award in 2025 about how they are impacting their patients and respective states for the better. bit.ly/aanp-awards25

We not only help you manage your diabetes, we will also take the time to explain and provide education on how your medications work to improve your overall health!

🔹 1. Take Medications as Prescribed

Consistency is key—take your medications at the same time every day.

Never skip doses or double up if you miss one—ask your health care provider what to do.

For insulin, rotate injection sites to avoid tissue damage.

🔹 2. Know What You’re Taking

Understand:

What each medication does

Possible side effects

When to take it (before or after meals, etc.)

Physical activity helps regulate blood sugar levels, improves insulin sensitivity, and supports overall health.

The American Diabetes Association recommends:

150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity per week (e.g., 30 minutes, 5 days a week)

2–3 sessions of resistance training per week

Avoid sitting for more than 30 minutes at a time – aim to move regularly.
