🩸 September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month 🩸

At Baptist Cancer Center-Crittenden, we’re raising awareness about blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.

Early detection can make a big difference, so it’s important to know the signs:

🔹 Unexplained fatigue or weakness
🔹 Frequent infections or fevers
🔹 Easy bruising or bleeding
🔹 Swollen lymph nodes, especially in the neck, armpits, or groin
🔹 Unexplained weight loss or night sweats

If you or a loved one notices these symptoms, don’t wait—talk to your healthcare provider. Early action can save lives!

🩵 September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month! 🩵

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men—but early detection can make all the difference.

Here’s what the American Cancer Society recommends:

🟡Age 50: Men at average risk should talk with their doctor about screening.

🔵Age 45: Men at higher risk—like African American men or those with a father or brother diagnosed before 65—should start the conversation earlier.

🟢Age 40: Men at the highest risk, with multiple close relatives diagnosed young, should begin the discussion even sooner.

🧪If your PSA (prostate-specific antigen) level is under 2.5, testing every 2 years may be enough. If it’s 2.5 or higher, yearly testing is usually recommended.

This month, take time to talk with your doctor—or encourage the men in your life to do the same.

Please note our hospital will be accessible using the service road entrance during the road closure.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE 🚧
Contractors will close N. 7th Street from Southland Drive to the N. Service Road Ramp (in front of the Arkansas Highway Police HQ) beginning Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 7 PM.

The road is scheduled to reopen Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10 AM.
• Detour signs and message boards will be in place to guide traffic
• Please allow extra travel time and use alternate routes

🛑There will be no traffic permitted through during the repairs. Motorists should follow detour signs or seek alternate routes to avoid delays.

⚠️As always, drivers are reminded to use all motorist information tools wisely and Know Before You Go by checking travel conditions before leaving for their destination. Drivers should never tweet, text, or talk on a cell phone while behind the wheel.
