Welcome back to Wellness Wednesday!
This week let’s talk about how to protect your peace!

You have the power to protect your peace 🌿✨
That power lives in the choices you make every day—
who you let into your space, what you give your energy to, and what you decide to walk away from.

Protecting your peace isn’t about avoiding life—it’s about honoring your mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Because when your peace is guarded, your mind feels clearer, your emotions feel steadier, and your body feels less tense and weighed down.
Stress lowers, sleep improves, energy returns.

It’s saying no without guilt, taking breaks without apology, and setting boundaries without explanation.

Your peace is worth defending.
It’s not selfish.
It’s survival.
And it’s the foundation for everything you want to grow. 🌸

Welcome back to Wellness Wednesday! This week, let’s talk making intentional choices!

Making choices that impact our life are not about being right or wrong; some decisions can either lift you up or weigh you down. It's about being intentional with your choices—whether they nurture your mental well-being or drain your energy. When you consciously decide what serves your peace and what doesn't, you take control of your mental health. Intentional choices create space for growth, balance, and self-compassion.
Instead of getting caught up in perfection, ask yourself: 'Is this helping or hurting me?' Choose with purpose, because every decision shapes your journey. Your mind and heart deserve that care. 🩷💜

Welcome back to Wellness Wednesday! This week, let’s talk about how survival patterns learned over time may not be helpful anymore.

Many of us adapted to survive – emotionally, mentally, even physically. Maybe that looked like shutting down, over-explaining, overworking, people-pleasing, or avoiding. These coping strategies weren’t wrong — they protected you when you needed them most. But what once kept you safe might now be keeping you stuck today.

Survival mode can feel like constant overwhelm, emotional numbness, hyper-independence, or always being “on edge.” If that sounds familiar, it might be your body signaling that it’s still living in past patterns.

💭 What can help?
• Pause and notice: Are you reacting or choosing?
• Get curious, not critical: Ask yourself what this reaction protected you from in the past.
• Practice safety in small ways: Slow down your breathing, set a boundary, or ask for help – even when it feels uncomfortable.

Healing isn’t about rejecting the version of you that survived — it’s about reassuring that part of you that it’s safe to live differently now.

✨ You don’t owe your past survival patterns your future. Be intentional. Be gentle. And remember, you get to choose a life that feels safe and free.

We deeply value our interns and the meaningful work they do each day—not only in supporting our clients, but in growing into compassionate, thoughtful clinicians.
This snapshot from intern supervision says it all: dedication, connection, and a little bit of real life in the mix (yes, those are their beautiful babies!) 💛
Grateful for our interns and supervisors who create spaces where learning, laughter, and life can all exist together.

Welcome back to Wellness Wednesday! This week, let’s talk about regulating our nervous system when we are in the Fight/Flight State.

Refer back to our previous post for more information on your nervous system.

🔴 Fight/Flight (Sympathetic state) - anxious, angry, restless

The goal of this state is to discharge the energy you are feeling and return to safety.
The signs you can notice are:
- racing thoughts, anxiety, panic, irritability
- physical tension, shallow breathing
- urge to act, flee, or fight (being defensive/accusing)

Techniques:
Movement- Based:
• Cardio - walking,running, dancing
• Shaking or jumping (to discharge adrenaline)

Breath-work:
• Long exhale breathing (inhale for 4 - exhale for 6-8)
• Box breathing (4 in - 4 hold - 4 out - 4 hold)

Grounding tools:
• name 5 things you see, feel, hear, taste, or smell
• Hold something cold (ice, cold water splash)

Orienting
• Turn your head slowly and notice your environment (safe scanning)

Soothing touch
• Hand on Heart
• Butterfly Hug

Affirmations of safety:
• “I am safe right now”
• “This feeling will pass”

Learning to recognize when you are not regulated in your nervous system and then learning how to regulate especially when you are feeling responsive - like arguing or isolating - can help bring your more clarity when facing triggering or difficult situations. Try these regulation techniques to help bring your nervous team back to safety!

We will discuss how to regulate in the other stages in the upcoming weeks!

Welcome back to Wellness Wednesday! This week, let’s continue to talk about your Nervous System!

🧠 Is Your Nervous System Dysregulated?

Your body has one job when it senses a threat — keep you safe.
But here’s the thing: the “threat” doesn’t have to be life-or-death. It could be conflict, overwhelm, burnout, or even unhealed past experiences.
Your nervous system doesn’t always know the difference — it just reacts.

👉 That’s why you might experience:

• Trouble focusing or sleeping — even when you’re
exhausted

• Tight chest, stomach issues, or muscle tension

• Procrastination - forgetting things

• Mood swings, shut-down, or feeling numb

• Racing thoughts or total brain fog

These responses aren’t weaknesses — they’re protective patterns.
Your body is doing its best to keep you alert, avoid danger, or conserve energy.

✨ The good news?
These patterns can be rewired. You can teach your body that it’s safe again.
Awareness is the first step. Regulation is the next.

Follow along as we dive deeper into how to support your nervous system in everyday life — gently, compassionately, and at your own pace.

Welcome back to Wellness Wednesday! This week, let’s talk about your Nervous System!

When we think of stress, we often hear about “fight or flight” — but your nervous system actually has a whole spectrum of protective responses:
💥 Fight
🏃‍♀️ Flight
🧊 Freeze
⚫ Shutdown (Collapse)
🌼 Safe & Social (Regulated)

These responses are incredibly common, especially when we’ve experienced trauma, chronic stress, or overwhelming emotions. You’re not broken — your body is doing exactly what it was designed to do: protect you.

By learning how your nervous system works, you start to understand why you feel stuck, reactive, numb, or disconnected.
🧠 Awareness is the first step.
❤️ Regulation is the next.

Over the next few posts, we’ll explore how to gently guide your nervous system back to safety and connection.
Because healing isn’t about forcing calm — it’s about creating safety inside your body.

Welcome back to Wellness Wednesday! This week, we’re focusing on something truly powerful—how to support someone through their mental health journey. 💛

When someone you care about is struggling, your words can be a lifeline. Offering kindness, compassion, and patience can help them feel seen, safe, and not so alone. Just being there—genuinely and consistently—can mean more than you know. You don’t have to have all the answers; sometimes, simply saying “I’m here for you” is exactly what someone needs to hear.

Let’s be intentional about showing up for one another—with soft hearts, open ears, and gentle encouragement. Together, we can create a community rooted in empathy, connection, and healing.

✨ Here’s to growing, healing, and holding space for each other—one day at a time. ✨
