For the first time in years, overdose deaths are declining, proof that evidence-based treatment and harm reduction are making a difference.

But now, proposed Medicaid cuts could put that progress at risk.

Medicaid is a lifeline for so many individuals seeking care for substance use and mental health. Without it, thousands may lose access to treatment, undoing years of progress in overdose prevention.

Let’s not undo the progress we've made. Access to treatment must remain a priority.

There’s good news from the frontlines of Missouri’s — and the nation’s — hard-fought efforts to reign in the opioid crisis: deaths from overdose deaths are on the decline.
