Today is HRS Awareness Day. There are over 100 types of liver disease; Hepatorenal Syndrome is one of them.

HRS an extremely serious condition that affects kidney function in some people with advanced liver disease. It is most common among people with advanced cirrhosis (scarring of the liver) and almost always occurs in those with ascites (a buildup of fluid in the belly area associated with cirrhosis).

ALF's Weekly Health Policy Round-Up is here! Congress is still working towards passing a spending bill for fiscal year 2026 in order to reopen the government. Additionally, the acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) directed the CDC to identify the barriers that cause some pregnant women to miss their hepatitis B screening and develop ways to ensure all pregnant women get screened.
