We're investing $854,000 to upgrade Monmouth Family Health Center in Long Branch, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and partner in delivering compassionate care to historically underserved populations. The support will allow Monmouth Family Health Center to make significant improvements to equipment, technology and supplies to better serve patients.

“This is more than just an investment in a single health center, it is an investment in Monmouth County and one of our core communities,” said Mark E. Manigan, President and CEO, RWJBarnabas Health. “Ensuring historically vulnerable communities have access to world-class healthcare that uses the latest and best technologies in a welcoming and comfortable space is central to our mission to build and sustain a healthier New Jersey. Monmouth Family Health Center is a vital partner in this mission, and this investment shows it will continue to be well into our shared future.”

For too long, academic medicine has been concentrated in a handful of cities. Patients in states like N.J. have been forced to choose between staying close to home and getting the best care. That's a structural problem, one that can be solved. The model that RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers University has built proves that a public research university and a community-rooted health system can create something neither could achieve alone: a place where discovery moves directly into practice, where the best doctors want to work and where patients don’t have to leave their state to access the newest treatments. How Rutgers and RWJBarnabas built an integrated health system that's keeping breakthrough treatments—and the doctors who deliver them—close to home

This week, we were honored to welcome Governor Mikie Sherrill to Saint James Health (SJH) to share the impact of our State-supported community health initiatives in Newark and across New Jersey.

During the visit, the Governor was joined by RWJBarnabas President and CEO Mark E. Manigan and our SVP of Community Health Balpreet Grewal-Virk, as well as Nicole Fields, CEO of SJH, as she learned firsthand about how our 340B pharmacy and Food Farmacy are making critical medicine and healthy foods accessible to those who need it the most. She also heard from OB/GYN Dr. Trilby Tener; our SVP of Social Impact and Community Investment Barbara Mintz; registered dietitians Sarah Davis and Kristina Markovic; community health worker Kat Salazar; SNAP navigator Chelsea Garzon; and social worker AriaCeliz Ortiz about how their work helps address health care disparities at their root causes.

RWJBarnabas Health has earned Cardiac Catheterization Lab Accreditation from the American College of Cardiology (ACC) in recognition of the health system’s excellence and consistency in delivering heart care!

This designation follows a rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients in each of our 11 cardiac catheterization labs across RWJBarnabas Health.

The accreditation confirms RWJBarnabas Health’s successful implementation of standardized, evidence‑based practices across all hospital locations, reducing variation in care and ensuring that patients receive the same high‑quality treatment no matter which cardiac catheterization lab they visit across the system.

At a time when federal funding support has grown less certain, we're deeply grateful to partner with Governor Sherrill to not only treat disease, but help prevent it by proactively addressing the factors that fuel adverse health outcomes for our most vulnerable communities.
