In 2016, New Jersey resident Lou DiChiaro was diagnosed with heart failure. In 2025, his heart function had severely declined and received a new heart just days after being placed on the heart transplant list.

Igor Gosev, MD, PhD, Cardiac & Thoracic Surgery, Matthew Montgomery, DO, MPH, MBA, Cardiology, and the entire team at Newark Beth Israel Cardiology, an RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group practice performed the heart transplant procedure that saved Lou DiChairo’s life.
