Domestic violence is a pattern of behaviors where one partner in a relationship tries to gain power and control over another partner. Some studies estimate that nearly all abusers choose to commit financial (or economic) abuse against a partner, and it can be an extremely powerful way to keep victims trapped in a relationship.
If a partner has ever chosen to do these or other abusive things toward you, remember: it's not your fault, you're not alone, and help is available. đź’ś Learn more: https://buff.ly/FzJOv7c

Examples of financial abuse can include: giving you an allowance, hiding family assets, not letting you have your own money, running up debt in your name, ruining your credit, interfering with your job. Abuse is never a victim's fault. Help is available." NNEDV logo below.
