From The Palm Beach Post: Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach plans massive redo

Good Samaritan Medical Center is redoing its West Palm Beach campus with plans to build a new hospital and medical office tower, rental housing, two luxury condominiums, a hotel and a mixed-use complex along the waterfront.

The project, estimated to cost between $2 billion and $3 billion, is being done in conjunction with a new entity called Easton Street Capital, created by two principals from Palm Beach-based Frisbie Group.

Good Sam's plans for its newly named Center of Excellence will be among the pricest redevelopments in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County.

Palm Beach Health Network and Easton Street today announced a long-term strategic partnership to create a next-generation Center of Excellence for healthcare, longevity, and wellness on the existing Good Samaritan Medical Center campus in downtown West Palm Beach. The vision includes partnerships with the best medical institutions in the world, positioning Good Samaritan Medical Center among the premier healthcare destinations in the country.

The initiative will reimagine how healthcare is delivered in an urban environment by combining world-class medical care with proactive wellness and longevity solutions, community-oriented programming, and integrated housing.

The Center of Excellence is envisioned as a catalyst for a stronger and more comprehensive healthcare ecosystem. In addition to complementing existing healthcare services throughout West Palm Beach, the initiative also aims to accelerate collaboration, expand access to high-quality care, and elevate the health and wellbeing of the community. This also includes a well-funded plan to make state-of-the-art healthcare facilities and technology more accessible to the region.

While the entire cost of building and equipping the new facility will be funded by Easton Street Capital and Palm Beach Health Network, as part of the initiative, a dedicated nonprofit foundation will be established to support the Center of Excellence's clinical mission and programs. The foundation will fund medical research and education, patient education and access to care, and support programs to develop and attract top clinical talent to deliver the highest standard of patient care. By creating a sustained philanthropic engine alongside the development, the partnership reinforces its commitment to advancing clinical excellence and patient access.

At the heart of the vision is a modernized Good Samaritan Medical Center, supported by best-in-class providers and integrated into Palm Beach Health Network, the region's largest health system recognized for its comprehensive services. Palm Beach Health Network is part of Tenet Healthcare, which brings access to national expertise, resources and scale.

“This partnership builds upon Palm Beach Health Network’s commitment to this region,” said Maggie Gill, Group President of Tenet Healthcare. “The reenvisioned Good Samaritan Medical Center will be designed for the future with added capacity and expanded services such as onsite advanced cardiac care options, new to West Palm Beach. The medical center will meet the needs for emergency and specialty care for the growing community and for generations to come.”

"This project is about rethinking what urban healthcare can be," said Cody Crowell, Co-Founder of Easton Street Capital. "By bringing together world-class medical care, housing, and wellness in one connected district, we're creating a place that supports healthier lives and a stronger community — not just today, but for generations."

Good Samaritan Medical Center plans to enhance services in advanced cardiac care, cancer care, neurosciences, surgical capabilities and more. The broader development is expected to include a longevity and wellness center, workforce and market-rate housing, community wellness amenities, and a walkable, pedestrian-focused environment.

"By creating a hub that attracts talent, research, and innovation, we're expanding opportunities for every healthcare provider in the city," said Rob Frisbie Jr., Co-Founder of Easton Street Capital. "That kind of investment lifts the entire system and benefits patients across all care settings."

Easton Street Capital and Palm Beach Health Network are finalizing plans and anticipate submitting a development application for City review in the coming weeks.
