So grateful to have presented “Faith, Identity, and Healing: A Provider’s Guide to Supporting LGBTQ+ Clients Navigating Religious Trauma.”
This work lives at the intersection of faith, identity, and deep healing—and it requires courage to talk about what often goes unspoken.
If you look closely at the photos, you’ll see my pink elephant 🐘—a symbol of the “elephant in the room” and the discomfort our world often has discussing religion and LGBTQ+ identity. We can’t support healing if we avoid the hard conversations.
Truly honored and thankful to be invited to speak on such an important topic.

What’s on your therapist’s bookshelf tells you a lot.
On mine you’ll find EMDR, Buddhism, daily mindfulness, and empowerment books side by side.
They reflect what I believe:
healing is possible,
growth is lifelong,
the mind and body are connected,
and compassion changes things.
Those shelves hold tools for the work we do – and reminders that I’m always learning right alongside you.
If you glanced at your therapist’s bookshelf, what would you hope to see there?

Cognitive reframing is learning to pause and question the story you’re telling yourself.
Our thoughts shape how we feel. When we automatically assume the worst, we suffer more than we need to. Reframing means choosing a more balanced, realistic perspective.
Instead of:
“I failed, I’m terrible at this.”
Try:
“I made a mistake, and I can grow from it.”
Small shifts in thinking create big changes in mood, confidence, and relationships.
You don’t have to believe every thought you have!

Everyone deserves a relationship built on respect, trust, and safety. As we walk into February, we’re shining a light on healthy relationships, setting boundaries, and speaking up when something doesn’t feel right. Empowering your teen to speak up is vital.
If you or someone you know is experiencing dating violence, you’re not alone—and help is available. Education, awareness, and support can save lives.
Let’s empower teens to recognize the signs, know their worth, and choose healthy love.

Expectation tells us life should look a certain way by a certain time. Reality reminds us that becoming who you are takes patience, setbacks, relearning, and grace. It’s okay if your life doesn’t match the highlight reel. It’s okay if your path looks different than what you imagined.
You’re not behind. You’re human. And the real version of your journey—imperfect, honest, evolving—is more meaningful than any expectation ever was. 🤍

When you prioritize your mental well-being, you’re choosing to care for the part of you that thinks, feels, loves, and shows up in the world. Ignoring burnout, stress, or emotional pain doesn’t make it disappear; it just asks your body and mind to carry more than they were meant to. Rest, boundaries, asking for help, and saying “no” are not signs of weakness—they’re acts of self-respect. When you tend to your mental health, you create space for healing, clarity, and connection, not just for yourself but for everyone around you. You deserve to feel supported, grounded, and whole. Taking care of your mind is taking care of your life.
