Seeking a second opinion is common practice for numerous significant healthcare choices, including those related to orthopedic treatment. Whether you are dealing with a new diagnosis or managing a long-standing orthopedic issue, obtaining another viewpoint might reveal options you weren't aware of.

If joint or back discomfort is hindering your activity levels, contact us to schedule an evaluation or get a second opinion. We provide non-surgical solutions that may provide an alternative to invasive surgical procedures or steroid injections.

Seeking a second opinion is a good idea if:

- You’ve been told your treatment options are invasive or high-risk, like surgery.
- You feel uncomfortable about a diagnosis or recommended treatment plan from a doctor.
- You aren’t satisfied with your current treatment plan.
- You felt rushed through a doctor’s appointment or unheard.

Your back pain doctor is destroying your back and they know it!!!
The sad part is, their intentions are good, but their hands are tied.

If you have back pain, chances are you know what an is. It's the ol' "zap the nerves" treatment. RFA stands for " " It's an archaic treatment for chronic low back pain thats been around forever. Basically, a doctor (trained in x-ray guided spine injections) directs these electrified needles to the little "facet joints" in your low back and zaps off the nerve endings that supply pain signals from your aching joints. For many, it's one of only two "non-invasive" treatments available for back pain...and even then, Insurance is doing their best to stop paying for it.

But why get an RFA? It makes sense, right? Just burn off the nerve endings that send the pain signals and you're good! Well if you're a normal thinking human being, there's probably a voice in the back of your head asking, "well, what happens to the thing that was causing the pain in the first place?" You should listen to that voice. That RFA, while it can reduce pain in the short term, is making things WAY WORSE in the long run. You should really think about this especially if you are relatively young and have been presented with an RFA as a treatment option. In short, an RFA destroys the nerves that supply the critical deep stabilizing muscles of the spine. These muscles will ATROPHY and wither away, leading to more INSTABILITY in the spine.

Listen closely to this part: Instability is the root of all evil when it comes to back pain. I repeat...Instability is, in most cases, the source of your back pain. Quote me on this.

Check out this study that measures the amount of atrophy that happens in those crucial deep stablizing muscles after JUST ONE RFA treatment. It's scary! https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38635483/

If you want to treat back pain the RIGHT WAY, you need to treat the instability. To treat instability, you need to think regenerative. At Palm Beach Regenerative Sport & Spine we know how to strengthen your spine, improve stability, and increase the longevity and health of your spine...using entirely natural means.
Stay tuned to find out how we do that!
