We look at the whole picture before taking the next step. For some patients, the best outcome comes from a well-managed, non-surgical plan; for others, a minimally invasive procedure may offer the smoothest path to comfort and mobility.

My role is to guide each step with clarity, experience, and trust because every spine and every person is different.

Surgery is never a one-person effort. Having Alberto alongside me ensures patients benefit from seamless teamwork and advanced technology.

Together, we rely on ultrasonic tools and minimally invasive methods to relieve pressure, protect function, and keep recovery at the center of every decision.

Taking time to explain the “why” behind a diagnosis or treatment plan is how trust is built and recovery begins. My goal is to ensure that patients leave each visit with a plan, clarity, and confidence in the next steps.

Dr. Scott Raffa, MD MBA

I am a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon at Memorial Neuroscience Institute where I treat patients with various neurological disorders of the brain and spine, with a focus on complex spinal pathologies. Disorders treated include neck and back pain, sciatica/pinched nerves, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, spine trauma, spinal deformity and more. I specialize in a variety of minimally invasive surgical techniques, including lateral retroperitoneal and endoscopic approaches to the spinal column. I also treat various cranial disorders such as primary and metastatic brain tumors, subdural and epidural hematomas, intracerebral hemorrhages, skull fractures, Chiari malformations, and vascular malformations, as well as carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar nerve entrapment and more. I am continually drawn to the field of neurosurgery by its individualized approach to patient care. I always appreciate working closely with patients and their families, knowing that any day could improve someone’s quality of life. For me, patients should come to expect an honest, transparent, and friendly conversation that yields an individualized and tailored care plan, consistent with Memorial’s overall goals and values. In addition to providing patient care, I also hold an MBA degree from the University of Florida Warrington College of Business and have professional interests in health administration, practice management and intraoperative efficiencies.
