Dr. Scott Raffa, MD MBA
I am a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon at Memorial Neuroscience Institute where I treat patients with various neurological disorders of the brain and spine, with a focus on complex spinal pathologies. Disorders treated include neck and back pain, sciatica/pinched nerves, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, spine trauma, spinal deformity and more. I specialize in a variety of minimally invasive surgical techniques, including lateral retroperitoneal and endoscopic approaches to the spinal column.
I also treat various cranial disorders such as primary and metastatic brain tumors, subdural and epidural hematomas, intracerebral hemorrhages, skull fractures, Chiari malformations, and vascular malformations, as well as carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar nerve entrapment and more.
I am continually drawn to the field of neurosurgery by its individualized approach to patient care. I always appreciate working closely with patients and their families, knowing that any day could improve someone’s quality of life. For me, patients should come to expect an honest, transparent, and friendly conversation that yields an individualized and tailored care plan, consistent with Memorial’s overall goals and values.
In addition to providing patient care, I also hold an MBA degree from the University of Florida Warrington College of Business and have professional interests in health administration, practice management and intraoperative efficiencies.
