Being a stay at home mother is a pricey privilege.

My son is Autistic.

I've never expressed this on my social media.

Why?....
I felt it wasn't my story to tell, but Lennons. I don't want him to be thought of and treated differently as I was/am. I didn't want pity.

However the more I talk about it, the more I find out I'm not alone. More importantly, the more resources I find for him and us. The more I hope when I have a last minute class cancelation, it's not because I'm irresponsible and my students understand. The more I hope my friends don't think I'm just blowing them off or don't want to be with them.

There are times at Gerritys when Lennnon HAS to open EVEEY door in the frozen section... and I let him. I burry the hurt I get when people give me the stink eye and huff because they don't want to wait. They think I just "let" Lennon run a muck and I'm a bad mom. That truly hurts.

I'm not asking for a break or even 2. I'm asking for many.
