Seth and I (MFM Clinic) were
happy to treat the HS Zizzer basketball team to some Andy’s. They rightfully earned this celebration after their 3 wins (3for3) during day 1 of the Rib City Shootout in Cape Girardeau today.

We see and treat lots of “Summer Time Ailments” at Mission First Medical! Here are just a few listed below;
Skin Injuries:
* Lots of fish hook removals 🎣.
* We stitch up cuts. Treat scrapes, and abrasions: Common injuries from outdoor activities 🛶.
* Skin infections: These can arise from cuts, scrapes, or rashes that are not properly cleaned and treated.
* Poison Ivy 🌱
Insect Bites and Stings:
* Reactions to mosquito bites, bee stings, and other insect encounters. 🐜
* Tick-borne illnesses.
Gastrointestinal Issues:
* Food poisoning: Often caused by consuming improperly stored or prepared food, especially during outdoor events. ☀️ 🍱
* Gastroenteritis (stomach flu): Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps. 🤢
6. Water-Related Illnesses and Injuries:

Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12): Drug information

Vitamin B12 Optimization

B12 is an essential water-soluble nutrient that plays a vital role in energy production.

Metabolism, including fat and carbohydrate metabolism and protein synthesis, nerve cell function, neurological function and red blood cell formation.

Absorption of B12 can decrease with age or be poorly absorbed due to chronic medical conditions, diets, or poor absorption through the intestines due to genetic factors or gastric surgeries.

Benefits: Increased energy levels, especially if fatigue is related to deficiency; may benefit mood, improve metabolism, and cognitive function.

Rhett Huddleston and Molly Orr were named Mr. and Miss Zizzer at tonight’s West Plains Middle School 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony. This honor recognizes students who exemplify what it means to be a Zizzer; leaders in the classroom, in activities, and among their peers. Rhett and Molly stand out for their citizenship, academic excellence, positive attitude, and involvement across the board. Congratulations to both!

Attn: TIRZEPATIDE patients. Disregard and texts you receive stating “a prescription is on the way” with tracking. Somehow the new pharmacy is linking patient phone number from chart and updating you on the shipment to the clinic. No one should receive medications at their home, the meds are shipped to Mission First, but the number attached to the chart receives a text. Thank you! 😊 - Suzanne

Mission First Medical Welcomes Kristen White, FNP!
She is a dear friend of mine and a wonderful provider!
Kristen has been a nurse for the past eighteen years with a background in ICU and emergency care. She graduated with her Masters of Science in Nursing in 2018 and has been working as a Family Nurse Practitioner in primary care since. She and her husband are residents of Thayer and when she isn’t working she can usually be found on a field or court cheering for her children’s activities.
We are so excited to have her. Kristen will be seeing patients for acute illnesses on a walk-in basis. Help us give Kristen a warm welcome!!!
