With Mother’s Day Sunday, thinking of you.

There are days when the weight feels heavier,
when everything quiets just enough
for the missing to take center stage.

On those days, it’s easy to wish
for an easier path—
one without the ache,
without the constant reminder.

But love and grief
are never separate.

One exists because of the other.
One is the cost,
and also the proof.

If I could go back
and choose differently—
to avoid this pain entirely—
it would mean erasing you too.

And that’s not a choice at all.

So I stay with it,
even on the hardest days.
I carry the missing,
because it means I had something real.

Something worth every tear,
every quiet moment,
every long stretch of remembering.

Because to have loved deeply
is to accept that it never truly leaves you.

And somehow,
that makes it worth holding onto.
