The 2025 class for the MS in Radiologic and Imaging Sciences at California State University, Dominguez Hills, recently had the opportunity to participate in the Graduation Ceremony on campus. Eight of the twenty graduates traveled to the LA area for the ceremony from as far away as Chicago and Missouri. Below are several photos that were taken during the ceremony. One of our graduates, John Hampton Smith, was singled out by the President of the University and brought to the stage for special recognition.

The Masters of Science in Radiologic and Imaging Sciences is currently taking applications for Fall 2025 admissions. The deadline is July 1, 2025. Students admitted in the fall semester may choose a 12-month or a 24-month schedule.

On August 10, 2024, 18 students defended their Capstone Projects and now have the MS-RIS as their degree designation. Examples of the work done are studies on occupational injuries in sonography, the Impact of static magnetic fields on MRI staff, the role of clinical preceptors in academic governance, the safety and outcomes of ultra-low doses in cardiac catheterization, using liver elastography to measure COVID impacts, a systematic literature review on contrast-hanced mammography, and others.

The MS-RIS program has brought on board three new adjunct instructors. They are Dr. Julie Smith from North Carolina, who is a nuclear medicine technologist and radiographer; Dr. Kristin Beinschroth from California, who is a radiographer with a public health background; and Dr. Raymond Ranada from California, who is a radiographer.
