In this week’s blog post, we explore the Anti-Resolution and why we're ditching the “New Year, New Me” checklist in favor of setting small intentions, subtracting stressors, and living more fully in the present.

To read the full article, visit: https://casatondemand.org/2025/12/24/the-anti-resolution-why-were-ditching-the-new-year-new-me-checklist/

This blog proposes the "Anti-Resolution" approach, a gentler alternative to the toxic "New Year, New Me" pressure that often harms those in recovery or navigating mental health challenges. Instead of setting rigid, binary goals that invite shame and failure, the post advocates for choosing broad "in...

The Holidays can be a time of celebration and fun! They can also be a time when stress and exposure to alcohol can lead to overindulgence. For those in recovery from alcohol use disorders, Holiday parties and events can be especially challenging.

This card offers some ways to stay healthy over the Holidays, including limiting alcohol or not drinking at all if you are pregnant or may be pregnant.

It is with heartfelt gratitude that we announce the retirement of Nancy A. Roget, M.S., MFT, LADC, a leader whose commitment, vision, and compassion have shaped CASAT and the behavioral health workforce for more than three decades. Nancy’s career reflects a deep dedication to supporting communities, providers, and the many individuals and families impacted by substance use and mental health challenges.

Nancy joined CASAT in 1994 as an Instructor and Lecturer with the Addiction Technology Transfer Center, bringing a strong clinical foundation in adolescent and family treatment. When Nancy became Executive Director in 2006, CASAT benefited from steady, thoughtful leadership and an ability to unite people around a shared mission.

Licensed in Nevada as both a Substance Abuse Counselor and a Marriage and Family Therapist, Nancy consistently blended clinical expertise with genuine human understanding. Whether teaching, mentoring, or collaborating, Nancy approaches every interaction with intention and respect.

Through strong leadership, Nancy helped CASAT grow, strengthen its programs, and embrace new opportunities. Nancy successfully secured federal and state grant funding that expanded CASAT’s capacity to support behavioral health professionals and reach areas with access gaps. In 2024, this commitment was recognized with the University of Nevada, Reno Outstanding Leadership and Supervisor Award.

Nancy played a central role in developing nationally used curricula, advancing innovative and culturally responsive training, and pioneering virtual and web-based learning. Nancy’s legacy is reflected not only in these initiatives but also in the many professionals whose careers and confidence have been shaped by her guidance and mentorship.

As Nancy begins this new chapter, we celebrate her extraordinary contributions and offer our deepest gratitude for the lasting difference made at CASAT, across Nevada, nationally throughout the behavioral health field.
