Native American LifeLines is pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Mercia Cummings (Piscataway Conoy Tribe) as Clinical Director, serving our communities in both Baltimore and Boston.

Mercia is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Approved Supervisor; and comes with 25 years in the mental health field.   In her various healing approaches and modalities, she is a 500 Hour Yoga Instructor, Mindfulness Educator, and Second Level Reiki Practitioner. As a yoga instructor, she believes yoga asana (physical practice of yoga) is for every body, but focuses on the inflexible and beginner student to develop their own practice while honoring their body where it is.  Mercia is charismatic and her passionate approach is strongly influenced by her Indigenous culture and Buddhist faith, she is able to use creative, holistic, eclectic and energized approach to encourage her clients to connect to their authentic selves, mind, body and spirit. As a trauma trained therapist, she believes in healing not just impacting the individual, but the community as a whole through language, music, arts, and culture.  Mercia understands that  the healing journey is a balancing the energy of individual resiliency; including family networks, generational relationships, community support systems, cultural
and spiritual resources and a shared collective history that unites people, creating a sense of belonging.

We are excited to have Mercia join our team and look forward to co-creating wellness that privileges indigenous ways of knowing and being, and that honors our deep ancestral strength and resilience.
