From a young age, Summer always found herself doing hair—braiding friends’ styles at school and experimenting with looks. By high school, she knew that becoming a hairstylist was her true calling.
Summer thrives on the transformation that comes with hairstyling. She loves the moment when a client turns around to the mirror and their jaw drops in excitement over their new look. For her, being able to help someone walk out of the salon looking—and feeling—like a brand-new version of themselves is the most rewarding part of the job.
For Summer, hair care doesn’t stop when clients leave the salon. She emphasizes at-home maintenance, especially for color clients. She recommends sulfate-free, color-safe shampoo and educates blondes on proper care—like scheduling a gloss and clarifying shampoo halfway between appointments. Most importantly, she cautions against overusing purple shampoo, reminding clients that too much won’t make hair brighter.
Outside of work, Summer loves spending time at Buffalo’s waterfront, which she enjoys in every season. Her name may be Summer, but she admits autumn has her heart—“Buffalo autumn is elite,” she claims. A fun fact about Summer is that she used to be very shy, but working in the hair industry helped her step out of her shell and become the outgoing, confident stylist she is today. At home, she has two cats, Pootie and Yuki, a silver Maine C**n, and when she’s not in the salon you’ll often find her in the garden during summer or at cheer and p*e wee football on her fall weekends. With so many passions and interests, Summer brings warmth, creativity, and balance into everything she does.
