Ritchie Regional Health Center West Union Campus

Ritchie Regional Health Center West Union Campus RRHC West Union Campus RRHC West Union Campus is located at 117 Main Street in West Union.

This Primary Care Center is staffed with a Medical Doctor and a Dentist. RRHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and has six sites in four Counties. The main purpose of the FQHC Program is to enhance the provision of
primary care services in underserved urban and rural communities. (FQHC’s) that
receive federal funding must provide access to services without regard for a
person's ability to pay. They must also meet certain requirements regarding
schedules of fees and discounts (often called a sliding fee scale) for the services
they provide to ensure that the cost of services not covered by insurance are
discounted on the basis of the patient's ability to pay. This scale offers patients
a reduction in the price of their office visit determined by their annual income
and number of household members supported by the income.

🏫 Eleven schools in Wood County now have our Telehealth Kiosks, giving students direct access to primary care right from the school nurse’s office.

👩‍⚕️ With these kiosks, students can be seen for common concerns like allergies, rashes, sore throats, pink eye, ear infections, and stomach aches — without ever leaving school.

🗣 In addition to physical health services, the kiosks also offer therapy appointments with our behavioral health professionals, helping support students’ mental and emotional well-being.

🏅We’re proud to provide children with quality, convenient care — and it’s generous donations like yours that help make it all possible. Thank you for supporting healthier futures.

⭐A Legacy of Care and Commitment: A Tribute to Sandy Swisher⭐

For decades, Sandy Swisher has been a guiding force at Integrated Health Centers of West Virginia (IHCWV). Her career, marked by unwavering dedication as a nurse practitioner, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), and Chief Operations Officer (COO), has left an indelible mark on the organization and the countless lives she has touched. This tribute is a testament to her impact and the legacy of care she has built.

Sandy's journey in nursing demonstrates her lifelong passion for helping others. From her early days as a staff nurse in Orthopedics at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital to her time as a Family Nurse Practitioner, she has consistently demonstrated a deep and abiding dedication to her patients. Her role as a Certified Diabetes Educator highlights her expertise and focus on empowering individuals with the knowledge they need to lead healthier lives.

Sandy’s career with IHCWV began with a commitment to patient well-being as a nurse practitioner. In this role, she laid the groundwork for her compassionate leadership, building patient trust and embodying the organization's core values. Her influence expanded as she transitioned into administrative roles as CMO and COO. She brought her firsthand understanding of patient needs to the executive level, ensuring that every strategic decision was rooted in a commitment to quality, patient-centered care. Her leadership was instrumental in expanding IHCWV's reach and improving its services while maintaining a steadfast focus on the community's well-being.

Sandy's commitment to the school-based healthcare center at Jefferson Elementary in Wood County is a particularly impactful part of her legacy. This initiative has brought essential health services directly to students and their families, removing barriers to care and ensuring that children have the support they need to thrive. Her commitment to this program reflects her belief in preventative care and her desire to make healthcare accessible to the most vulnerable members of our community.

Sandy’s dedication and service have shaped IHCWV into the vital institution it is today and inspired her colleagues and the next generation of healthcare professionals. She has been a true educator and helped train future healthcare professionals. As she nears retirement, she leaves behind a legacy defined by her compassion, visionary leadership, and tireless work to make quality healthcare accessible to all. Her contributions will continue to benefit the community for years to come.

"It has been a privilege and an honor to have served the community of Ritchie and surrounding counties while working at IHCWV. I am humbled and blessed by the outpouring of love and well wishes from patients I have cared for over the years. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to get to know each patient beyond just their health concerns and to play some small part in their healthcare journeys. It is also a special thing when you work with other like-minded people who put patients first and demonstrate caring and compassion every day, no matter how hectic the day may be. You'll find that at IHCWV." - Lisa Straight, DNP APRN
