D.D. Palmer: the founder of chiropractic. D.D was a magnetic healer in Iowa, looking more deeply into the human body and its alignment. He came up with the idea of adjusting the spine by hand, which is exactly what the word “chiropractic” means- “done by hand”.
D.D. Saw the FIRST ever patient of chiropractic- Harvey Lillard. He was a janitor, who fell deaf after an injury. D.D saw that Lillard had a vertebra out of place, and realigned it, and Harvey could HEAR AGAIN! After 17 years of being deaf.
Chiropractic is truly fascinating, as it aligns the whole nervous system, not just the bones. When chiropractors align your neck and back and pelvis, they are helping your nervous system to function exactly the way it’s supposed to- which makes every SYSTEM work how it’s supposed to!
D.D. Palmer created one of the safest and most holistic forms of healthcare, and two years after seeing his first patient, he created the Palmer School of Chiropractic.

Meet our staff! 😁 Jennifer is the face of our office- keeping it positive, upbeat and running smoothly.

Jennifer Schott grew up in the small community of Ossian, Iowa. Jennifer and her husband, Al, moved to Leesburg, VA in 1993 and adventured to move 10 times in 10 years-now residing in Clermont, Iowa.
Jennifer has been working as an Office Manager for Pleggenkuhle Chiropractic since 2018. Her past job experience has been well diversified from working as a nanny to bookkeeping to working in healthcare. She enjoys all aspects of her current position at Pleggenkuhle Chiropractic, but mostly interacting with the patients. She will welcome you whether it is in person or on the phone.
Jennifer cherishes the time she gets to spend with her husband and their two adult sons- Croy and Dane, friends and extended family. Jennifer can be easily entertained with playing a game of cards, participating in a round of pickleball, watching a chick flick, filling her day with baking goodies, caring for the grand pups, or taking a walk on a fair-weather day!
