Hypertherima is used in the treatment of most soft tissue cancers. By heating cancer tumors to 42 degrees Celsius (108F) the body increases oxygen and blood flow to the cancer site, improving Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy. Heating also inhibits DNA repair so cells damaged by radiation do not recover. Hyperthermia can directly kill cancer cells and shrink tumors on its own, but is generally accepted as an adjunct therapy.
