I’m back! 🌿 Maternity leave was such a sweet time to get to know our family’s newest addition. While I may have shed a tear or two coming back to the office today, I am excited to get back to the work and business I LOVE. And this little girl and her big sisters are my biggest “why”. 🥰 Accepting new clients now and planning some events to be announced soon!!!!

Upcoming Maternity Leave 🌿

We have about a month until baby girl number 3 makes her arrival! With that, I’ll be practicing what I preach to my clients and taking some time off. Unless she decides to come early, my last day will be February 8th.

My plan is to return to the office in the beginning of May. If you’re looking to refer clients, attend an event, or network I’ll be back at it then! But for now, I’m going to get in some sweet newborn cuddles.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for me in this pregnancy and continued to support Growth Haven! 🪴

Why do relationships matter?

⛪️ God is relational. (Genesis 1:26-28)

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We were made by God to be relational with Him & other people. (Genesis 1:26-28)

⚔️ Satan attacks relationships. (Genesis 3:1-5)

💔 Sin destroys relationships. (Genesis 3:22-24)

✝️ Jesus makes it possible to have healthy relationships again! (Romans 5:6-11; Ephesians 2:4-10; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21)

(Credit goes to for these points).

Because we are relational beings, we have many relationships in our lives. It is important to understand the qualities of a healthy relationship. This could be dating, marriage, family, friends, mentors, and so forth. Every relationship is unique! So the way these qualities present themselves may look different depending on the relationship.

However, healthy relationships tend to have commonalities. Here is a list of 12 of them that are highly associated with wellness and health.

How are you implementing these in your relationships with others? Are the people in your life fighting for these qualities as well?

HOME 🏡

As we approach the holiday season of gathering in our homes, consider what comes to mind when you think of “home”.

⬇️⬇️⬇️

🏠 Is it a safe place? Full of joy? Maybe it’s a place full of respite for you and your family.

🏚 Is it cluttered or disheveled? Maybe good feelings and memories aren’t associated with this word.

Our homes are usually an outward expression of what’s going on internally. Take inventory of this. What is the state of your home or the feelings you have toward it telling you?

Let us be a people who cultivate hospitality, order, safety, and joy in our homes and in our lives. 🪴

Stop what you’re doing and reflect on these right now. It just might change your marriage. 🖤

Which question had you not considered before? Self-reflection is one of the most significant ways we can help our relationship grow. 🪴 If we aren’t willing to self-reflect, how can we expect our spouse to do the same? Take a moment to think about what you are bringing to the table in your marriage.

Is your spouse getting the best version of you? 🌿

Your marriage is about a LOT more than you and your partner. 👇🏻⛪️🌿

“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body. “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.”

Ephesians 5:22-33

Don’t worry, I won’t spoil too much of the content. But I did want to plant this idea in your ear of some of the things we will be focusing on in regards to intimacy 🖤

First, each if these pillars has to be on a strong foundation of commitment! Once that foundation is established we can start to examine how well these pillars stand in our marriage relationship. 🧱

How are your standing? Is the foundation of true commitment even present? Which pillar needs the most immediate attention?

What are attendees saying about the Thriving Marriage Workshop?

Dr. Chandler from Healthy Home Chiropractic shared how the workshop impacted her marriage! 💕

“The Thriving Marriage Workshop gave our relationship a new lens to look at our marriage from. We learned how to cultivate an atmosphere of appreciation within our marriage by keeping God at the center.

My favorite part was to see the other couples being just as invested in learning how to strengthen their relationship as we were.

The TMW used all of my senses to keep me engaged and involved! It was not boring, it did not make me feel shamed for not being a perfect wife, it wasn’t awkward when intimacy was the topic, and so on.

I recommend this course to every one of my friends! There are not courses out there like this one. The world is constantly pulling at you and bruising your relationship, this class heals wounds and starts new conversations for the future of your relationship!”

09/22/2022

"In sharp contrast with our culture, the Bible teaches that the essence of marriage is a sacrificial commitment to the good of the other. That means that love is more fundamentally action than emotion. But in talking this way, there is a danger of falling into the opposite error that characterized many ancient and traditional societies. It is possible to see marriage as merely a social transaction, a way of doing your duty to family, tribe and society. Traditional societies made the family the ultimate value in life, and so marriage was a mere transaction that helped your family’s interest. By contrast, contemporary Western societies make the individual’s happiness the ultimate value, and so marriage becomes primarily an experience of romantic fulfillment. But the Bible sees GOD as the supreme good – not the individual or the family – and that gives us a view of marriage that intimately unites feelings AND duty, passion AND promise. That is because at the heart of the Biblical idea of marriage is the covenant." - Tim Keller, The Meaning of Marriage

What are you fighting for?

Years ago my husband and I went through one of the toughest seasons in our life. A good friend of ours walking with us through it told us to fight - “fight for life”.

That stuck with us. So much so that we both got it tattooed on our arms to remind us daily what we are fighting for.

Life…

In our marriage
For our children
In our ministry
In our friendships
With our relationship with Jesus.

It is a fight daily. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. To take life. But the good new is that Jesus is the Death Killer! With Him we are capable to continue the daily fight for true life.

In what area are you fighting for life in right now? Or maybe what should you be?

Weekly Marriage Check-In ✔️🌿

Do you set aside time to connect in your marriage? I’m not talking about going over your finances, schedules for the week, or making plans for fun things to do with the kids this weekend. All of those things are great! But what if you extended those conversations by an additional 30 minutes to talk about the two of you?

➡️ Here is my challenge to you. This week try sitting down and asking each other these questions. Put away the phones, turn off the tv, and each of you ask and answer honestly these six questions.

These are from The Marriage Journal at Beating 50 Percent. If you want to make this a weekly check-in I would highly encourage you to purchase their journal! 🖤

What other questions would you add to this list?
