Happy Friday 9/26/25 and please help us celebrate Dzenana for HR Professionals’ Day👏!

We had an animal-themed full day of activities including our first Live2BHealthy movement & music class with instructor Melanie Teare and the Zoo to You educational program with presenter Ben from the Blank Park Zoo!

Residents, family members, and staff enjoyed welcoming two of the Zoo Ambassador Animals: Nui, an Asian Forest Tortoise 🐢 and Fergus, the whistling duck 🦆 from Australia.

We also had a chance to take some photos of people wearing their purple 💜, in support of the Des Moines Walk to END Alzheimer’s (happening tomorrow) and our very own walk team, Arbor Springs: One Family!

We had a VERY full day of activities today, on Thursday 9/25/25!

Special shout out of thanks 🙏 to our Brookview Elementary 1st Grade students (and teachers) who joined us for the first time this school year. They visited with our residents, sang songs, and delivered their special Apple 🍎 Crafts!

Another thank you to all the residents, family members, and staff who helped us celebrate 🎉 the National Comic Book Day in the Cafe by posing for Superhero 🦸🏻‍♂️ Photos!

We ended our day by working out with Zumba Gold instructor Jennifer Voss 🙌 and also welcoming 🤗 Sophie, our new foster cat 🐈‍⬛, from Hope Animal Rescue.

Our Fun 🤩 (and yummy 😋) Baking Club with Esther was held this afternoon right after the Courtyard Chats in Aspen/Birch!

We also thank volunteer Zach and his dog Tilly for their visits to residents in Dogwood, Evergreen, and Maple neighborhoods 🤗! Sorry our team didn’t get any pictures at this activity.

🤗🍁We welcomed back our friends & volunteers from Link Associates for our Fall-themed BINGO this morning!

Congratulations to John, Violet, and Marie who all won at least one blackout prize👏!

Shout out of thanks 🙏🏻 to youth volunteer Elizabeth P (and her mom Mary) from Girl Scouts Troop #616 for delivering their 2nd batch of themed table decorations! Elizabeth has been working hard at creating totes full of decorative items that our Life Enrichment Department can use in The Cafe and the residents can help use in each of our neighborhoods.

Thank you 🙏🏻 to everyone who helped us celebrate this fun 🤩 holiday 🏴‍☠️ today!

There was certainly lots of laughter 😂 and “Ahoy” greetings heard throughout the building. Many Arbor Springs residents kept their pirate hats on all day!

Michelle & Kate want to give a special shout out to the staff and family members who joined us for our Armchair Travel to India 🇮🇳 this afternoon and for all of them trying the Snack Crate samples 😋!
