🚨🚨🚨 AMTA-IA HF 2602 Massage Establishment Licensing Bill is scheduled for a vote the HOUSE tomorrow! We need your help:

I’m a licensed massage therapist in your district and I support HF2602. Please vote YES on Thursday.

This bill helps protect the integrity of our wellness profession and the public we serve. Massage Establishment Licensing would be an important tool for both the Iowa Board of Massage Therapy and law enforcement in their efforts to shut down illicit businesses posing as massage offices, prevent criminals from opening massage establishments and employing massage therapists, and targets the traffickers behind these businesses, not individual massage therapists.

This bill does not create an extra burden for solo practitioners and will create a streamlined system statewide. Iowa has had a salon establishment license for decades, this bill makes sense.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to speak on a panel to various Drake University Business students as part of the “Business for Good Summit”!

I was able to share about my gift for healing touch at a young age and journey to what is now Redefine & Reveal Massage Therapy & Bodywork and how my healing program, Render a Respite has allowed me to provide health equity through a trauma informed care approach to underserved community members unable to or having difficulty affording or accessing safe therapeutic touch to help navigate some of life’s toughest challenges. Alongside me were two other impactful business owners with passion and purpose integrated into their business, one using food as the vessel with Garrison Goodlett and the other heart health through fashion and education with Tanika Roland

Thank you to every woman who showed up for our Self Love experience. What a refreshing and fulfilling morning of creativity, reflection, and authentic healing.

From painting decorative floral pots to exploring our inner selves, celebrating the small wins that lead to a big BINGO, experiencing therapeutic bodywork, and learning how our carotenoids and antioxidants support our wellness, it was more than an event. It was intentional sisterhood.

The laughter, the honesty, the good vibes, the joy… this is what happens when women gather to pour into themselves and each other.

Grateful for the beautiful space, the collaboration, and every single one of you who chose to show up.

NEW Discounted Youth Massage Therapy Sessions! With an increase in parents seeking a massage for their child(ren) whether it be to assist with chronic neck pain that started at birth, going pains in their legs, to help with sleep and calming the nervous system, soreness and/or injury from sports, or even an in-home kids day spa party… it only made sense to add a discounted rate and varying time options!

Youth massage is a gentle, age-appropriate therapeutic service designed to support relaxation, body awareness, and physical comfort for children ages 6–12. Massage for youth may help reduce muscle tension from sports, posture, or daily activity, promote relaxation, improve circulation, and support better sleep and emotional regulation. A parent or guardian is welcome to remain present during the session. Select time based on the child’s comfort level, attention span, and therapeutic needs.
