“A dysregulated nervous system doesn’t tell the truth.”
Someone shared this with me the other day, and it still has impact.
A dysregulated nervous system is primed for danger-and thinking based in fear-when there may actually be no true threat from moment to moment.
Finding calm—and the ability to think clearly— can be a tall order in a world that often prefers we stay scared, distracted & discontented.
One of the most powerful—even Revolutionary—things you can do is step back.
Notice.
Take a breath.
And engage in things that help you regulate.
Observing your own behavior and reactions is a great first step to achieving a deeper sense of grounded safety and wellbeing.
