🌟 This week, Care Initiatives and Care Initiatives Hospice team members had the privilege of attending the 75th Annual Iowa Health Care Association Convention & Trade Show!

It was an inspiring time to connect with colleagues from across the state, learn from industry leaders, and celebrate the incredible work being done in long-term care and hospice. Our team enjoyed networking, gaining new insights, and bringing back fresh ideas to continue enhancing the care we provide to our residents, patients, and their families.

A big thank you to the Iowa Health Care Association for hosting such a valuable event and to all who stopped by to visit with us at the trade show!

Today we got to celebrate another outstanding team for their dedication to providing quality care to our residents. Lyon Specialty Care received a deficiency free state survey result which means state surveyors found zero deficiencies during their annual inspection and confirmed that Lyon Specialty Care is meeting or exceeding all state and federal requirements in the areas of resident care, services, and environment. Jessica McDyer, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Care Initiatives has been chosen by the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) as a member of the 2025-2026 Future Leaders program.

McDyer will join 39 other leaders for AHCA/NCAL’s 20th Future Leaders program, a year-long program that offers training and guidance for industry professionals.

As part of Care Initiatives’ commitment to improving the health and quality of life for Iowans, the state’s largest non-profit operator of skilled nursing facilities has invested more than $200,000 to support the transportation needs of residents. New wheelchair-accessible vans have been delivered to four skilled nursing facilities and will provide greater access to care, improve community engagement, and provide peace of mind for resident families.
