Poor Bob is a great lesson to contact lens wearers - never store your contacts in water or anything other than contact lens solution! Rumor has it the bacteria in the dirty water in Sochi is what caused his eye infection. Also, remember to change your contact case regularly as bacteria can build up.

November is National Diabetes Month!

The Iowa Optometric Association recommends that individuals with diabetes have a dilated eye examination once a year by an optometrist. Early detection and treatment can limit the potential for significant vision loss for conditions such as diabetic retinopathy (see photo below).
