What an amazing day of caring with the ISU Marching Band! They helped us celebrate a special birthday for our patient David! He marched at both Iowa and ISU, if I heard correctly he played the trumpet! He was beaming with joy the entire time and shed a few happy tears! After each performance he said “WOW” and even pointed out the high C that was played! We are deeply grateful to ISU marching band for making this happen for David! It’s going to be hard to top this birthday! Iowa State University Cyclone Marching Band thank you again for the amazing performance this afternoon!! ❤️💛❤️💛

With the help of Windsor Manor in Nevada, our team had the privilege of taking Miss JoAnn, her 2 sons, and daughter-in-law to Center Grove Orchard today! JoAnn worked for Center Grove for about 10 years taking school aged kids on tours, helping in the farmyard, and later working in the kitchen.
JoAnn has not been out of the facility in almost a year due to her dementia and anxiety making it difficult. She did SO GREAT today getting out and back to some old stomping grounds! She LOVED watching kids play! The smile on her face was priceless!

What a day we had celebrating our patient Joann!! Her special request for her day of caring was a casino day! Our staff helped her get all dolled up for her outing! Jo is full of s***k and catches the attention of everyone, so it was no surprise she captured the attention of the staff at Meskwaki and received red carpet treatment!! Joann knows when to fold them and walked away a winner too!!! Days of caring are one of the many ways that we truly do go above and beyond for our patients!!! Thanks for all the laughs today Joann!!
