It’s a busy weekend for our TRUTH Family team as some of them are in different parts of the country doing great things!! ✈️

This post highlights Leah, Dr. Miller, and April attending The Remarkable Practice Seminar in Phoenix for two full days of learning about how to become the most remarkable practice for our patients and our health system.

Leah wrote a great reflection as they embarked on an early morning hike before a long day of getting filled up with knowledge and inspiration. Stay tuned to see what some of our other team members are up to in different parts of the country this weekend! 🌎

Remarkable Practice Conference -

Climbing Camelback Mountain early in the morning is a lot like the journey of becoming remarkable in chiropractic care.

When you start the hike before the sun rises, it takes intention. Most people are still asleep, but you choose to get up, show up, and start the climb anyway. The trail can be steep and challenging, but with every step you gain strength, perspective, and a better view.

That’s a lot like the work we do in chiropractic.

Helping people heal, grow, and live healthier lives isn’t always the easiest path—but it’s the remarkable one. Chiropractic care is about choosing a higher standard, showing up consistently, and believing that the body is designed to heal when it’s properly aligned and supported.

And just like a great hike, leadership matters.

Our boss, Dr. Miller, is like the one leading the climb. He sets the pace, shows us the path, and challenges us to go further than we might on our own. He doesn’t just tell us where the summit is—he equips us, encourages us, and pushes us to grow so we can reach it together.

Because remarkable teams don’t happen by accident.

They’re built by leaders who are willing to go first, climb higher, and help everyone around them become stronger along the way.

Just like watching the sunrise from the top of Camelback, the reward of growth, healing, and impact is always worth the climb. 🌄💪

Fun Fact Friday 🧠

Most headaches don’t just show up out of nowhere. Your body usually sends warning signs first.

Things like:
• neck tightness
• frequent yawning
• pressure at the base of the skull
• feeling mentally “overloaded”

These can be signs that your nervous system is under stress.

When the joints and muscles in the neck aren’t moving well, the nervous system can become irritated, which often leads to tension headaches.

The good news?
When you listen to those early signals and address the cause, you can often stop headaches before they fully set in.

Your body is always communicating — the key is learning how to listen.

Neck tightness doesn’t usually start as a “big problem.”

It starts small…
A little stiffness after work.
A dull pressure at the base of your skull.
A headache that shows up in your temples by the end of the day.

Most people try to stretch it, ignore it, or push through it.

But here’s what’s often happening underneath:

When your neck muscles stay tight for long periods of time, they begin protecting an area that’s under stress. That tension can irritate nerves that travel from your neck into your head, which is why many people start experiencing pressure, temple pain, and recurring headaches.

Your body isn’t trying to hurt you.
It’s trying to get your attention.

The good news?
When you address the root stress on the nervous system early, the body is incredibly capable of healing and relaxing again.

Small corrections → less tension → better nerve communication → fewer headaches.

If neck tightness and head pressure have become part of your “normal,” it may be time to interrupt the pattern instead of managing the symptoms.

Your body was designed to heal when the interference is removed.

If you’re local, our doctors would love to help you figure out what’s really going on.

And if you’re not local, start today with this simple step:
• Lift your phone to eye level
• Roll your shoulders back
• Take 5 slow breaths and gently stretch your neck

Small habits can start big healing.

You’ve likely heard the phrase “gut feeling” — but your gut does far more than process food.

Your digestive system includes not just your stomach and intestines, but your microbiome — trillions of bacteria that influence digestion, immunity, mood, and even brain function (hello, gut-brain axis 🧠).

Here’s the powerful part: exercise directly supports gut health.

Regular movement can:
✔ Improve digestion and motility (help prevent constipation)
✔ Support a balanced microbiome
✔ Strengthen the gut lining
✔ Increase blood flow and oxygen to the digestive system
✔ Reduce stress (which heavily impacts digestion)

And you don’t need extreme workouts.
Consistency matters most. Walking, strength training, Pilates, yoga, stretching, and even deep breathing all support a healthier gut.

Pair movement with whole foods, fiber, hydration, and stress management — and you create the ideal environment for your gut (and overall health) to thrive.

Your body was designed to heal and function well.
Sometimes it just needs you to move. 💚

Most headaches don’t start when the pain shows up.

They start days… sometimes weeks… earlier.

Your body has been quietly building stress from work deadlines, poor sleep, tension in your shoulders, scrolling on your phone, skipped meals, dehydration, emotional stress, and physical strain.

Then one small thing pushes your system over the edge.

A cup of coffee.
A weather change.
Lunch.
A long day.

And suddenly your head is pounding.

But that last event wasn’t the cause.
It was just the overflow.

Think of stress like a bucket.

Every day small things add to it.
When the bucket fills up, your nervous system starts sending signals like headaches, tension, fatigue, or brain fog.

Chiropractic care helps your nervous system regulate stress better so your body doesn't stay stuck in that overwhelmed state.

But there are also simple things you can do today to help your nervous system calm down.

Try this simple reset at home:

• Take 5 slow deep breaths
• Relax your shoulders and unclench your jaw
• Drink a big glass of water
• Step outside for 5 minutes of fresh air

Small nervous system resets throughout the day can help keep that stress bucket from overflowing.

If headaches are something you deal with regularly, getting your nervous system checked can make a huge difference.

After age 30, you naturally lose 3–5% of muscle mass per decade — and potentially up to half by your 80s or 90s. Muscle is essential for balance, mobility, metabolism, and making everyday tasks easier.

Strength training helps maintain and build muscle, supports healthy aging, improves mobility and brain health, and boosts metabolic function. It’s especially powerful for fat loss — combining resistance training with a reduced-calorie diet is more effective than cardio alone and helps preserve muscle during weight loss. Just 60 minutes per week of resistance training can reduce the risk of death from any cause by 27%.

How much do you need?
The CDC recommends:

2 strength training sessions per week

150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity weekly

Each strength session should target all major muscle groups: legs, hips, back, core, chest, shoulders, and arms.

How to start:

Schedule 2 non-consecutive strength days.

Use bodyweight exercises (squats, push-ups, lunges, bridges) if you don’t have equipment.

Perform 8–20 reps per exercise and work close to muscle fatigue.

Gardening, yoga, and other resistance-based activities can count.

Follow a structured plan for consistency.

Bottom line: If you don’t use your muscles, you lose them. Two full-body strength workouts per week can help you stay strong, lean, and independent for years to come.
