Last week, we recognized Lung Cancer Awareness Day with an interactive and educational event focused on early detection and innovative care! Lung cancer remains a major health concern in Iowa, with more than 2,500 diagnoses each year — and smoking continues to be the leading cause.

The event also featured a hands-on demonstration of the ION Robotic-Assisted Bronchoscopy Simulator by Dr. Samantha Danielson. Dr. Danielson has performed over 80 robotic bronchoscopy procedures, contributing to the more than 600 procedures performed by TIC doctors in the last two years.

A huge thank you to the American Lung Association in Iowa and Genentech for joining us and helping raise awareness and support lung health in our community! 🫁 ❤️

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Taylor spent nearly five years as a registered nurse, gaining broad experience across specialties including Med/Tele, Med/Surg, Kidney Transplant, Orthopaedics, and even middle school nursing.

She chose internal medicine for the opportunity to form lasting relationships with patients and guide them through both acute and chronic health concerns.
