My beautiful mother, Karen Kay MacGillivray Young, returned to our Lord on June 17, 2025 after battling Parkinson’s disease for over a decade. Karen truly walked in the footsteps of Christ, living her life with generosity, unconditional love, and service to others. She had the ability to make everyone around her feel valued and special. Her faith remained a strong guiding light throughout her life, and she was committed to helping those less fortunate than her.

I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to my patients for being so understanding and flexible over these past few months. I’ve needed to be out of the office quite a bit, and sometimes with very little notice. I am thankful that I was able to travel back and forth from Iowa to Ohio very frequently to attend to my mom’s needs as I witnessed what started as an orthopaedic injury rapidly spiral downhill in a way I never could have predicted.

My mom’s generosity and love touched so many people, and she will be missed by many, but especially by her husband of nearly 62 years and her children and grandchildren. I love you bigger than anything, Mom, forever and always❤️
