To the disappointment of the little burn-it-all-down-chaos-gremlin 😈✊🏾 that lives with us we get why Carney couldn’t metaphorically take a hockey stick to the Oval Office/Trump —

USA has more power and privilege ( ) than Canada, it isn’t that simple, so we appreciate the diplomacy.

and we feel like it is absolutely crucial to hold the fullness of this moment so here are some of our thoughts 👉🏾

The election was too close for comfort —

“OCP doesn’t post anymore.” — 🙇🏽‍♀️😣— friends, we’re just doing our best in this capitalistic hellscape.

Since March 2024, there has only been one full-time human behind — so please offer us (and 🙇🏽‍♀️me) a little grace.

Not to brag or anything — but most folks look at us and assume that is a team, consistent and reliable funding behind On Canada Project / — but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

While we’ve been lucky to have incredible collaborators, 🥹volunteers and contractors flow through over the years — it doesn’t replace people who are full time employees — and we’ve only ever had 1.

Money has and continues to be the biggest barrier of scaling our impact. Not a lack of ideas, not a lack of approach or strategy —just that we don’t have money so we can’t keep everything running at full force.

— anyways, we’re sorry we weren’t posting as much this election — but also we’re just doing our best.

Vote Strategically:
Voting is allyship. It’s harm reduction. And right now, we cannot afford to be careless with our votes.
The Liberals and NDP are both flawed. But they exist in a completely different political universe than the Conservatives, whose platform represents a far more dangerous, regressive future.

If you live in a riding where the race is close, and the Conservatives could win, our recommendation to you is to vote for the candidate most likely to beat the Conservatives.

Use platforms like smartvoting.ca to find out if your riding is at risk—and vote accordingly. This isn’t about loyalty to a party. It’s about minimizing harm today so we can keep organizing for better tomorrow.

Build People Power:
Minimizing harm is just the first step. We need to organize.

If we don’t choose to loudly resist fascism we will be taken over by fascism.

Read that as many times as you need to understand we cannot stop fascism without you. Because our systems will not be the ones to speak up first - so it falls on us, the people.

When we tell you to get involved, we’re not asking you to show up the way that we do. We’re asking you to find what is on the edge of your comfort zone and push just a little perhaps how we show out by your own metrics is leaps and bounds over your edge. That’s OK. You don’t have to do that. You just have to push a little bit out of your comfort zone that’s all we’re asking. This does not work without your help.
