🍊🧧 Today is the first day of the new lunar calendar and one of the most symbolic days of the year. In many Chinese traditions, what you do (and don’t do) today is believed to set the tone for the months ahead.

Happy Lunar New Year!! πŸ₯°

Here’s why 🍊

In Chinese tradition, washing your hair or bathing on the first day of the New Year is believed to β€œwash away” your luck and prosperity.

The word for hair (发) is connected to wealth (发贒), so keeping it unwashed symbolizes holding onto good fortune.

Washing your hair and cleaning beforehand is typically seen as washing away bad luck from the previous year and take a warm bath after is seen as inviting good energy and fortune.

There are many beliefs and superstitions on the lunar new year, but this is just one of them!

A gentle reminder that you are so worthy of love and kindness. Never forget that. Happy love day πŸ’•
