Special holidays and themed events are held every month, including intellectual and cultural classes, creative art programs, refreshing garden soirees, energizing exercise workshops, and tasteful culinary experiences. We had a wonderful Labor Day celebration at The Highlands! The day kicked off with a full exercise class, followed by a lively game of co****le and a special edition of Labor Day Jeopardy. Later, everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner featuring burgers with all the fixings. We wrapped up the afternoon gathered around the fire pit for a relaxing social to end the holiday on a perfect note.

I was so busy enjoying the day with everyone that I forgot to take pictures—but the memories we made are just as special! ❤️

We were delighted to welcome 41 guests to join our residents at The Highlands for a very special Sunday Brunch! As always, Chef Jason and Sous Chef Tony outdid themselves, preparing a delicious assortment of foods and sweet treats that everyone enjoyed. The spread was incredible, and the compliments were nonstop—our guests and residents alike raved about how wonderful everything was.

It was a truly memorable morning filled with great company, great food, and lots of smiles!

We enjoyed warm peach cobbler with ice cream, paired with delicious flavored coffees. The afternoon was filled with laughter, smiles, and wonderful conversation.

A special moment of the day was dedicating our new canopy tent in memory of Sally Smith, made possible through the generous donations of her friends. This thoughtful gift made our time outdoors so enjoyable, keeping everyone comfortable while we celebrated together.

The Highlands residents wanted to give back to our community in a meaningful way. Together, we partnered with the Westborough Youth Outreach Program to donate 40 backpacks filled with school supplies to local families.

We are so proud of our residents for their generosity and kindness—helping to ensure students in our community start the school year off right!

We kicked off our new monthly activity, Folklore and Fables, led by our wonderful resident Luree — a former elementary school librarian with over 30 years of experience! Everyone was captivated by Luree’s engaging storytelling, bringing classic tales to life. We sipped on delicious flavored coffee and enjoyed English shortbread cookies, making it a truly delightful afternoon.

We’re excited to announce that our Knot Just Knitting Club is back in action! Our talented members are hard at work preparing for our Fall Festival on October 23rd. This year, they’re creating beautiful handmade “SweetDees” to sell at the festival — each one crafted with care and creativity. We can’t wait to share their work with you and celebrate the season together!

We extend our sincere thanks to our resident, Dr. Satish Gupta, for sharing the celebration of India’s Independence Day with all of us at The Highlands. Dr. Gupta was joined by Sanjoy Ghosh on guitar, filling the room with the beautiful sounds of India’s music in honor of this special day, celebrated on August 15th.

A special thank you also to our wonderful servers, Myesha and Samyra, for their help in making the event such a success. Residents and guests alike enjoyed the performance, the lively atmosphere, and the cultural connection. We concluded the celebration with a delicious cake for dessert — the perfect sweet ending to a memorable afternoon.

We celebrated National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day by baking over 9 dozen of the most delicious cookies — just like the ones Grandma used to make! The kitchen was filled with sweet aromas, warm memories, and lots of smiles. A delightful way to spend the day together!

We’re excited to share that our very own resident, Jack, is leading a fascinating new course on genealogy titled “Roots and Revelations.”

With a class of 22 residents, the kickoff session was a wonderful success—everyone thoroughly enjoyed diving into their family history and exploring the stories that shaped their roots.

Thanks to Jack’s engaging teaching and wealth of knowledge, we’re thrilled to continue this enlightening series through October. We look forward to many more discoveries ahead!

We couldn’t have asked for better weather for our adventure! Our day began with a delicious lunch at The Cheesecake Factory—great food and even better company.

Afterward, we boarded a narrated ferry for a scenic cruise down the Charles River. With the sun shining and a light breeze, we took in the beautiful sights while learning about the rich history and iconic landmarks of Boston and Cambridge.

Our residents at The Highlands thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing day on the water—and let’s just say the ride home was a quiet one, with many happy naps all around!
