I am so excited that I was able to complete this continuing education course. I love working with female athletes who want to continue to get stronger and know they need some guidance to take ownership of that process.

You may think as a physical therapist who continues to talk about cheerleading, that I am anti competing and pushing thru pain.

To an extent, you're right.

No one should have to work thru pain...
But they might just need to work on improving movement so they can continue to perform and progress and actually stay IN the sport vs take a significant amount of time off.

This scene from the first Rocky grosses me out (I became a PT vs an MD/ATC or RN because I am not good with acute injuries.... ps...don't watch if you don't like blood!)

While I don't think you should continue to get punched in the head when you are actually struggling with a possible concussion and broken ribs, like in this video from Rocky....

I do admire the commitment to finishing the competition, despite the odds.

Just because you're injured, doesn't mean you have to quit. It also doesn't mean you should give up.

Cheers to the Rocky series for continuing to teach us thru the years :)
