This study showed that approximately HALF of the PROVIDERS surveyed were MISINFORMED ABOUT THE USE OF BUPRENORPHINE IN OPIOID USE DISORDER (addiction), believing that buprenorphine is ineffective at reducing overdose deaths and that its use substitutes one drug for another. Misinformation is common and associated with lower willingness of providers to treat patients with OUD. This is very, very sad.
