As some of you may know, my Son Cory
is in kidney failure. He’s a wonderful young
man, 32 years old, and a central part of our
family. He has spent the better part of the last 2 years
getting acclimated to dialysis and is employed full
time during the day. Cory is listed for a kidney transplant at Mass
General Hospital in Boston as well as Maine Medical In Portland Maine. Having a kidney transplant is the best treatment for kidney
failure and finding someone willing to
donate a kidney to him is his best chance at
a long healthy life. If you think you may be interested, but are
not sure if you qualify, we are working with
Square Knot Health to make sure you can get
any information you need. You can call them
and ask questions without any pressure to
donate. They can also do a pre-assessment of
your health if you want to go a step further
before talking to the transplant center. The doctors will not allow you to donate if
they find a medical or other issue that would
put you at risk now or in the future. Cory’s
insurance will pay the cost for the donor
testing and for the surgery at the transplant
center. If you decide to get tested, you may choose
to keep it confidential. We
know that finding just the right person, at
just the right time, who is willing and able to
be Cory’s living kidney donor will be nothing
short of a miracle. You can help our family
