Meet Alexandre B. de Moura, MD, an internationally recognized leader in spinal wellness, who founded New York Spine Institute located in Westbury as a means for bringing his affiliation with NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases and other world renown specialists home to Long Island.

The son of an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. de Moura took an early interest in the field and enthusiastically followed in his father’s footsteps. Upon being graduated from Chicago Medical School as an MD, Dr. de Moura completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Temple University Medical Center. He then subsequently completed his fellowship in Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Spine Surgery at the NYU Langone Medical Center. In 1996, Dr. de Moura returned to Long Island with the copious experience he gained handling extremely complicated cases at some of the greatest orthopaedic facilities in the world. He has in fact helped thousands of patients overcome their spine conditions and return to normal levels of function.

And now the many distinguished successes Dr. de Moura has been amassing are within reach to New Yorkers- his caring for patients and passion for the field have led him to open New York Spine Institute.
