Having Coffee with The Lord. Peace. A word that has so much promise, yet just a word if not understood. . Many have written peace treaties only to be broken, as one or both lusted over the others belongings, perhaps over, their inheritance from their parents or that which was to be left to their children.. An earthly peace written on paper or spoken with words our of mouths of those who have fallen short of the glory of God
Jesus gives us his PEACE. He had nothing earthly to leave us no inheritance, none. What makes His peace so special? Is it because it is His spoken word which is Spirit? Is it because He said it as He prepared to ascend to sit on His Throne at the right hand of His beloved father? Yes, but there is more. Jesus as He spoke these words " Peace I leave with you, My peace I give you....." yes you, the wretched you and the wretched me He offers His PEACE to us. It is true that He was filled with this peace as He prepared to return into His Father's house, and take His seat. Who wouldn't be full of Joy and Peace?
The difference is that Jesus had this same PEACE and was filled with Joy as He uttered these words. " forgive them for they know not what they do" as the hammer hit the spike and drove it through His hand and into a wooden symbol of torture and pain and death Let that carve His Peace and Joy on your Hearts.
